Armed robbery at Citizen's Bank in Shaker Heights | Crime
An unmasked gunman robbed the old Citizen's Bank, now First Merit located at 3505 Lee Road, Shaker Heights on Wednesday, August 28, just before 10:30 a.m.
The suspect entered the bank and proceeded to the teller window to engage in a brief conversation with the teller before pulling out what appears to be a black semi-automatic handgun.
The gunman instructed the teller to place money from her drawer in the bag he provided to her.
Afterwards he retrieved the bag containing the money and fled the bank on foot.
No physical injuries were reported.
The subject is described as a medium complexion, black male, approximately 5’7”, approximately 160-170 lbs, believed to be between the ages of 20 and 25 years old. He was wearing a navy/denim colored jacket with white trim, a “C” was observed on the jacket and a possible yellow mascot/animal type emblem was also observed on the jacket. The suspect was wearing the hood from his jacket. It is unclear at this time if the hood is a sweat jacket underneath the outer jacket or the hood is attached to the outer jacket he was wearing. Long “dreads” were observed coming out of the hood that he was wearing.
