Area's wine history covered at Heights Library program | Arts & Culture

Claudia Taller, author of "Lake Erie Wineries," will talk about northern Ohio's wine history at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Heights Library, 2345 Lee Road.
She will chronicle the times from the first European settlers to the new wineries on Lake Erie's shores.
Also, City Planner Kara Hamley O'Donnell will share the history of J. P. Preyer's Lake View Wine Farm, a well-respected Heights winery located on the "Ridge" in the late 1800s, near Superior and Mayfield and Superior and Euclid Heights.
Copies of Taller's book will be available for purchase and an optional Ohio wine tasting will follow at the Wine Spot for a $10 fee. This event is sponsored by the Heights Library in partnership with Cleveland Heights Landmark Commission and the Cleveland Heights Historical Society.
